You clearly have a northwest bias. The last 5 or so years have dropped the Suns winning % from elite to respectable. Right now they are neck and neck with Portland.

It was easy to see why Portland voted against it and Mark Cuban didn't want a team in his back yard stealing his tickets sales. Seattle didn't want to pony up for a new stadium either and not sure they would now. If the Suns did move there they would have to change their name to the Clouds or something.

Based purely on winning % they were elite. No one can dispute that. Today’s NBA fans have so little perspective and insight that any team who is great today is all that matters. History is apparently 5 years old.

The Suns do have a great all time winning percentage. But what does that do besides get good attendance and money for the owner? And that is supposed to keep them from wanting to move the team to (theoretically) greener pastures.

But guess what? People don't remember all time winning %, the like to look up and see banners.

The Suns are not a joke franchise, that's the Clippers and Kings and Hawks and Nets and....

They have had many periods of being good and a few being very good, but haven't ever been great
