I loved the movie, but does anyone remember when Billy Beane was talking to his team and he told them to not steal any more bases. He said something to the effect of "I pay you guys to get on base, not get thrown out at second base." lol, i know that it's a movie, but it's humorous that they think that a gm would tell his team to just stop stealing bases.

It was Terrence Long he was responding to specifically in the scene though, correct? In 2002 he stole 3 bases and was caught 6 times. I might have told him to stop running too.

oh that makes sense. i sort of remember it as him addressing the whole team, but if that's the case, then i would probably tell him so as well

I haven't seen it in a while but I remember it as him addressing a group of about 4 or 5 players watching video, and I believe that Terrence Long is the one that questions it and gets told "I pay you to get on base, not to get thrown out at second" or whatever the line is. So it's not a one-on-one with Terrence, but it's not the whole team.
