As if there are not enough threads in this forum about Deflategate, this one has to get hijacked also. I agree with your original comments. Ridiculous. The Bears should not get penalized for this. If the NFL is so concerned about repeat offenders, than the league should adopt some sort of policy to deal with these players rather than putting it on the teams this way.

Agree, if the NFL truly wants to punish teams for a players off field issues, the NFL should simply ban all players who have a history and not allow any team to sign them.

The NFL approved the contract in the first place. They need to point fingers in their own chests.

I think that there should be a punishment for what happened in this case, but it should really only be a hefty fine. Draft picks should only be taken when teams are caught cheating, like the patriots.
