Steelers added to group of teams reportedly interested in CB Alterraun Verner - Behind the Steel Curtain

Considering that Verner is the top CB on the market and Sam Shields just inked a 4yr/$39m deal, PIT would have to be willing to spend close to $50mil to obtain him. Which isn't going to happen, but like this article states, this is simply a move to determine the market. Not surprised that they are interested in a FA DB though since they already expressed interest in Delmas. I would like for them to look into Thurmond out of SEA.

I'm pretty sure they are going to make a legit run at him which really worries me. Losing Cotchery will sting a lot more than the sting felt from losing Sanders. But PIT can't afford to overpay to keep him, so it depends on what Carolina has to offer. Carolina is desperate after losing pretty much every WR on their roster (Smith, LaFell, Ginn, Hixon) so they need able bodies fast.
