yeah, they are going into bankruptcy protection, and then to "auction"
there appears to be only one bidder for that auction, Tom Gagliardi

Can I play? I've got a few of those $20K promissory notes from the game of life I can use.

I've always found it interesting that Columbus has pretty much avoided any and all relocation talk or attendance bashing despite the fact their average attendance year in and year out is usually dismal.

There are two keys to avoid having a team relocated in the NHL (only one needs to be fulfilled, however)

1. Having an owner (or a process underway to find a new owner)
2. Writing a cheque for $25 million to the NHL

So how many teams are in financial trouble or have self imposed salary caps now?

I posted back in the swamp and here a long time ago that the salary cap was going up too fast and it's bad business to raise it as fast as they did based on a couple of good seasons after the lock out. I explained why in detail and 90% of the posters said I was wrong.

If I get time when I get back to Buffalo I will try and find that post and bump it. I know i'm right about this and will say it again, "We are headed back to the same BS that caused the lock out"

I am going to make an "I told you so" thread when it happens because it WILL happen.

Might not be such a bad thing for you now that you have "Deep Pockets Pegula".

Tough for a mid-level hockey team to compete with the Rangers ALCS & the Cowboys. At least the Mavs probably wont play this year.
