Why?

Mando gets about 10 hrs a year. What can doing a movie in that story do for anything?

There is no difference between movies and shows today. Doing a movie in the same realm of an on going show is completely pointless from a story-telling POV.

It's not confirmed, but it kinda seems like this is gonna take the place of Season 4 of The Mandalorian. Practically, it doesn't seem possible to film both.
