I am sad that hockey is over for the year. I am however happy that OV got a cup. It takes a team to win and OV did what was needed from him to be a leader.

We did it. I got to see it with my dad. I cried when OV started talking out of sheer pride.

So happy for our city, our fans, and the players. Congrats Caps' fans especially @ritari330 and @Kevin12773 who we've chatted through many playoffs together.

I will talk to my uncle tomorrow. He introduced me to hockey and has been a fan of the Capitals since day 1. As much as every year I say something to you and you yell about bandwagon Pens fans, it is good to see people that have been following a team for that long finally get to see that team win.

So proud of my team. For years we were, well we all know. Now they have become an elite team that has their fans take over the opponent's arena. We are legit now, you have to win a championship to be considered legit. We will have a national following. Little kids all over North American are becoming Washington Capitals fans the way they became Red Wings or Pens fans in years past. If it was college I'd say they have developed into a legit program, not sure what you call a pro team that will now be considered one of the elites.

Early in the year I remember the Knights' Twitter account trolling the Caps after getting to 8 or 9 wins and saying how easy it was.

I've searched the Internet for it, don't have a Twitter account, and can't find it.

Can one of you Twitter guys find it and post it easily?

It would have sucked if a fan base that never suffered at all won The Stanley Cup.

This can't be stressed enough. Vegas had a good run but the fans of the Washington Capitals deserved this more.
