I originally thought it was offside, but on the replay...damn that was about as close as you can get.
CBC was really quick on the draw getting the freeze-frame evidence. sooo close.
As a person with no dog in this fight, I think the game was pretty even, but Vancouver had the higher quality scoring chances. Luongo played great, Thomas played out of his mind. That kinda tells the story.

sums it up very well.

holy shit. hoooooly shit.

Congrats, Vancouver fans.

Good game, Boston fans. Just one game, lots of hockey to still be played.

Who did people think played really well tonight? (And you can exclude the goalies - they obviously were the MVPs for both teams.)

I thought Marchand had a great game for Boston.

In the 71 seasons since the NHL introduced the best of seven format for the Stanley Cup Finals, the winner of Game 1 has won 55 of 71 series, a 77 percent success rate.

The most recent teams to win the Cup after losing Game 1 are the 2009 Pittsburgh Penguins, the 2004 Tampa Bay Lightning, and the 2002 Detroit Red Wings.

Those Detroit and Tampa Bay teams recovered from home losses in Game 1.

History shows whoever wins Game 1 tonight has a huge advantage in the series, but since 1990 there have been seven teams who have won the Stanley Cup after losing the series opener, and six of those teams lost Game 1 on home ice.

The loser of Game 3 does not win Game 3 100% of the time.

Nope, with Pens and Flyers in the top right and the Hawks in the top left, it's clearly moving from down to the next row and then to the outside. So, 2012... Sabres v. Wild.

Pretty funny pickup, 4706!

I also see that Stanley Cup teams are a certian number away form each other each time in the same position, but not necessarily row.

*When moving a team you coutn the team, not go to the next one*
Bruins-Nucks: 0 Spaces.

-------------: Skip 1 move

Hawks-Flyer: 2 spaces

Pens-Wings: 3 spaces

Ducks-Sens: 4 spaces

Canes-Oilers: 5 spaces (Take the long way)

Well with the Thrasher moving, we're gonna need a new banner in what, 2 years?
