They were last in the league in 16-17 so I guess they came back from that.A what story?
By 21 points, not even close. They were last in the league in 16-17 so I guess they came back from that.
Ovechkin?Heard Greg Buttons say that Nathan Mackinnon was only the 11th 1st overall pick to win the Cup and I thought that had to be wrong and sure enough it is but I still thought the number would be higher than 15.
Nate's the only one since 2009 to do so.
Ovechkin?
Gotcha, I was reading that way wrong lol2004 1st overall - BBB was saying Nate is the first overall draft pick to win the Cup since 2009.
Gotcha, I was reading that way wrong lol
At least the flames picked in the first round between 2010 and 2020 lolNo worries - Man, looking back at some of those drafts always depresses me seeing all the guys the Flames could have had. Tyler Wotherspoon was selected by the Flames one spot before Nikita Kucherov by the Bolts (and that was late in round 2 of 2011).

At least the Flames nabbed Gaudreau in 2011. And the Avs had 2 on the team this year so the 10th and 11th?Heard Greg Buttons say that Nathan Mackinnon was only the 11th 1st overall pick to win the Cup and I thought that had to be wrong and sure enough it is but I still thought the number would be higher than 15.

And I used to make fun of John Ferguson Jr.At least the Flames nabbed Gaudreau in 2011. This was Brian Burke's first night at that draft:
1) Traded away 9th overall (Dougie Hamilton) as part of the Kessel trade.
2) Sent 30th overall (Rickard Rakell) and 39th overall (John Gibson) for 22nd overall (Tyler Biggs).
3) Sent Kris Versteeg to Philly for 25th overall (ok, fine). Drafts Stuart Percy. Phillip Danault goes 26th.
Combined with giving away the pick that became Seguin the year before (as well as a 2nd although the 2010 draft was big time garbage), guy never should've had another NHL job again.
was that the "Draft Schmaft" guy?And I used to make fun of John Ferguson Jr.
Doesn't help that half the #1 picks since then have been among three teams, two of which are Edmonton and Buffalo.Heard Greg Buttons say that Nathan Mackinnon was only the 11th 1st overall pick to win the Cup and I thought that had to be wrong and sure enough it is but I still thought the number would be higher than 15.
