Its kinda sad that you have to put St Louis Cardinals on the front of that. Most people should know who Lance Lynn is but certainly understandable if they dont. Very solid starter until the all star break and then he always just sort of wears out.

I feel like this is the 7th or 8th Cardinals pitcher* to go down for Tommy John's in the past decade. Have to hope that Wainwright is 100% and the Cardinals pick up another starter somewhere whether its Lackey or not.

*- it probably just seems that way. The real number is likely lower than that

I am not even a Cards fan, and this was my thought as well. You guys just seem to get hit by these things.

Accurate or not, that is the sense.

Cards pitchers going down before a season starts is a tradition like Valentines Day...happens every year.

So the Cards are gonna win 90+ games still? Nothing fazes that club.

The Cards infuriate me with their consistent ability to live by the "next man up" credo...and every fucking time, that next man up almost seems to outplay the production of the incumbent. And this has been going on for damn near a decade now. It's envy really...and my team has done a pretty good job of finding fillers. The Cards are just "Next Level" with it.

Cards are the Spurs of the MLB I swear.

They'll find their way to the playoffs again despite this rough news.

Not just the Cardinals. It's crazy how common it is now, it's practically a requirement for pitchers at this point.

Sad news for Lynn but I don't think this will affect the Cardinals at all.
