You get a healthy Splitter and Duncan, and that surprising Warrior rebounding edge likely goes away.

This was the Warriors chance to make a series of it. I don't see it happening now. (of course, I said the same after the 1st game loss to Denver)

Case in point.

This was what I was afraid of. Mental mistakes down the stretch. I still think GSW can win 2 but that one was prime for the taking.

Everything you all are saying is true

Spurs veteran composure and depth vs Warriors explosive but inconsistent offense.

Warriors still have a short rotation going-all these minute have to take its toll.

One thing watching this team is that they are a resilient group. Most recent evidence was the way they responded in game 2 vs the Nugs after losing the game and D Lee.

All I got to say is damn..

The warriors represented well and were in a position no one could have guessed and they couldn't finish it.

See you all game 2

The Spurs are actually quite deep. Their bench sort of annihilated the Warriors bench.

They don't really have to pound their starting lineup into the ground.

The Spurs can legitimately go 12 deep. They have a freakishly deep bench.

The Warriors are younger, but they are not anywhere as deep.

I don't think either team will be fatigued.

Depth=youth when it comes to energy and fatigue.

I call it a PUSH.

Their depth took a hit when both Rush, and then Lee, were ruled out for the rest of the season. For the Warriors, it's their starting PF and their probable 6th/7th man (and backup to Klay/Barnes) which is what hurt them. Guys such as Richard Jefferson get PT as a result of those losses and as you can see, the Warriors paid dearly with RJ missing 2 FT's. I would rather see Bazemore in the game than RJ, good grief.

Curry playing all those minutes got him exhausted towards the end. MJ should really take notes on that in preparation for game 2. Also, this series isn't over yet. The Warriors really need to take one game from SA in their home floor to get over those demons of not having won one down there, and that'll do wonders for them. Their perimeter defense has to improve - the Spurs are not the athletic team that Denver is but rather they spread you out and can hit it from the outside. Also, I don't know what you guys feel about Jack but damn, too many mistakes once again from him. The team lost as a whole but Jack has been suspect for quite a few games now. His comments about testing the FA market at season's end doesn't help either. You don't build team comraderie with those kind of statements.

Yosh, I caught the Jarrett Jack interview on KnBR during my commute. Everything he said was about the team and how much he hopes to stay.

He said he didn't want to talk about it because he's all about the moment and that this is the best group of guys he's played with.

Lip service, maybe, but he came off real about dealing with FA during the summer.

I respected his answer. I still think the excess minutes are wearing him down. He was one of the best sixth man when taking over the "b" team with Landry and Ezili.

I don't think he played great in game 6 either

Its just amazing how this team can have a 20 to 30 points lead and it wont even matter because the other team will make it up in 5 mins anyway. :gaah:

Also didn't help that when Bogut went to the bench, the Spurs had a lay-up line to the basket. Not to be a Monday Morning QB, but I would've left him in there regardless of Duncan leaving and the intentional fouls; Bogut is too critical to the Warriors interior defense.

From the Elias Sports Bureau:

393 NBA playoffs games have had one team with a 16+ fourth quarter lead at the 4 minute mark.

The NBA record for those teams is 1-392.

The Spurs did something that had never been done before in 75 years.

They snapped a 392-0 record of perfection for that scenario.

That comeback was historic.

It still only counts as 1 game. And the Spurs could still lose 4-1, but that is cool tidbit.

That the spurs were down 16+ at home with 4 minutes to go is remarkable in itself. Both teams shouldn't have been in those situations.

The warriors have proven now that they can play with anyone, even short handed.

Looking like a strong team next season when at full strength.

I think even if the warriors lose next game you still cant count them out. But i think they come out with the same energy next game.

Thompson fouling out was the big difference in this one IMO.

After he fouled out, the Spurs made their comeback.

+1

This point was mentioned on local radio today. Never thought of it.

With Thompson fouled out and Bogut stuck on the bench for some stupid reason, Parker went off and The Spurs went on a run.

Sorry, didn't mean for it to come off as if the series has been settled.

The Warriors are for real and should be even better next year is all I'm saying

Pretty good firs quarter for GSW.

Curry needs to avoid picking up that 3rd foul in the 2nd quarter

Warriors up 19 at the half.

Klay with 17 in the 2nd quarter and 29 on the night.

They can't give this one away...Can they?
