Whats the argument for having UCLA as a top 25 team?

I don't understand why so many people are leaving BYU out of the top 25? Makes no sense.

Beat Texas, Utah State, Georgia Tech, Houston, Boise State.

Before anyone says WTF Ohio St #1, I followed my computers rankings in large part. Which has the closest margin for the top7 teams that I can ever remember.

Ohio St is 1 point above Oregon, who is 1 point above Florida St, who is 6 points above Alabama who is 4 points above Missouri and Baylor(these 2 are tied), who are 8 points ahead of Stanford. Only a total of 20 points difference between my #1 and #7. Very close at this point.

I did move Baylor over Missouri since Missouri has a loss and Baylor doesn't. And a few switches in teh 7-12 area. And then followed it out towards the end.

Its hard to argue too much with the order of anyone's top 4 as long as it has Fl St, Bama, Oregon and Ohio St. Ill save my breath on that one for later on in the season if more than 2 of those teams are still standing as undefeated

No bad losses and two solid wins. If you have them outside the top 25, you are blatantly punishing them for playing a tough schedule.

But they stunk against Stanford and got blown out by Oregon. If you play the schedule then you have to at least be competitive.

Their 2 solid wins aren't against top 25 teams, either

If you are looking for 25 teams with two losses (or less) and both being against top 10 teams in close games, as well as 2 wins versus top 25 teams, they simply aren't going to be there.

I think losing by 28 at Autzen (after being tied at halftime) is much more impressive than losing to Virginia by one. Honestly, they looked about 10,000 times better than Fresno yesterday as well. It's damn tough to win on the road, yet alone against the tenth best team in country and the second best team in the country. Punishing them for those losses while rewarding teams for OT wins over San Diego State just isn't something i'm gonna do.

When you look at the totality of the resume, I just can't see them outside the top 25. UCLA's losses are the best of any two-loss team if you eliminate Jack Folliard from this Earth. And the fact that they have two good road wins also gives them an edge over most of the teams in that 18-35 range.

I will agree with you about Fresno looking very mediocre. I think at least 35 teams would be favored against them on a neutral field. Ive been very reluctant to push them up the rankings

Seriously? You don't even consider those quality wins? Do you even watch football, or just such Urban's dick every Saturday?

1) Texas - 6-2, 4-0 in conference, only played 3 home games all year, embarrased top 13 OU, beat TCU worse than anyone has all year. Most here agree should be ranked.

2) Utah State - Only other losses are @Utah, @USC, Boise State. All were close. Plus, hasn't this team played spoiler to some top programs as of late???

3) Georgia Tech - Only other losses are Virginia Tech and @ Miami. Ranked top 40.

4) Houston - LOL at a top 30 team with a 6-1 record when BYU beat them @ Houston??????????

5) Boise State - Yep, top 50 5-3 Boise State is the worst win that I pointed out, and BYU beat them handily.

LOL at all those wins? Seriously? :wtf2::bullshit:

Have you seen Ohio State's schedule this year? You guys have not beaten 1 single ranked team. Not 1. I still have you guys ranked high, but you want to laugh at BYU's schedule.

Go take a dump on your own face.

I have Texas #31 right now. The reason being is there is a good chance they will finish 7-5 on the season, and 31 is a pretty good spot for a team of that record.

the 3 potential losses:

Texas Tech
Oklahoma St
Baylor

That said, they've won the last 2 games and are clearly on the upswing right now. I think if they win even 1 of those games they will be top25 material by the end of the year.

Lost to the only remotely good team they've played so far.

Only team with a winning record who they've beaten is 5-3 Texas State

Best win is by 10 over 3-5 TCU
Wisconsins best win is against a 4-4 Northwestern team, technically has 2 losses and you have them ranked 6th
