I think its pretty freaking shitty how low some people have Houston in their poll. The Cougars haven't played a great schedule but they have pretty much crushed everyone they've played this year and they do have a win over the P12 South likely P12 title game participant UCLA, and wins over 4-5 other likely bowl teams. If you dont want to have them top 5 then I can see you reasoning but to have them 20th behind 2 and 3 loss teams is just flat out stupid. Alot of these 2 loss teams have losses to teams that are not as good as teams that Houston have already beat. Boise lost to TCU, TCU lost to SMU, Houston crushed SMU. Okie Lite lost to a 6-4 Iowa State, Oklahoma lost to a 5-6 Texas Tech etc. If Houston crushes Tulsa this week then Houston will be number 2 in my next poll behind LSU ( unless LSU loses to Arkansas then Houston will be number 1)

Georgia's losses were both at the beginning of the season, to highly ranked teams... some of these teams ahead of UGA just lost and to unranked teams! WTF? We're on a 9 game win streak.

Georgia's losses were both at the beginning of the season, to highly ranked teams... some of these teams ahead of UGA just lost and to unranked teams! WTF? We're on a 9 game win streak.

I honestly think we should be the highest ranked 2 loss team because of this fact.

Wisconsin might have a slight argument but that's about it

Houston's better than Hawai'i

Houston actually has a pretty solid defense

Hawai'i defense was swiss cheese

while both never did have a big win

but Houston's wins are better than 2007 Hawai'i's wins

at Hawai'i's best win being over one of the worst Boise State teams this decade


only credit I will give that Hawai'i team is that they're the only team to beat a Petersen Boise State team by double digits

no...like Hawaii. BSU played great teams and has proven they can win over schools in superior conferences. TCU and Utah have done it before too. Houston has historically never done anything and never schedules anybody good during the regular season

I do have to say you're incorrect on this

they usually play Oklahoma State and Texas Tech

also Oregon a few times

this year they happened to not have Oklahoma State

sorry, I shouldn't have said "schedules" anyone good, but instead have said never beats anyone good. Last year they had that one good win over Ok. St. Unless you count Texas Tech and Mrs. St.(I still say they sucked like UGA last yr) but that is pretty much it. bel;i

Also I would like to see how they do in a BCS bowl since they have never gotten a chance...I just think it would be outrageous to put them in the NCG is all.

I have nothing against them. I personally think it's funny as hell when Non-AQ teams beat other schools(except UGA)

UCLA, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Oregon and Alabama are all AQ schools Houston has played since Keenum has been there. How many SEC teams have a better OOC resume over that time period?

despite their crazy horrible schedule at this point it would be a solid option

mainly because people are talking about a rematch

a rematch is more outrageous than a team whose best win is over SMU or if they're still in the discussion at the end of the year it's Tulsa

but with how Boise State, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma all dominated Tulsa, Houston's under pressure to do at least close to that.

I don't expect Houston to win like Boise State, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma did because those teams got Tulsa at the beginning of the year and Tulsa had a new coach and the loss of their top reciever so they weren't as good early on as they are now.

Houston should still dominate, something like 38-21 would be fine

How many of those teams did they actually beat? How many quality opponents have they played this year?

I'm not sure why the SEC got brought up, but UGA has played OKie St, Arizona State, Colorado, Boise St and of course GT... along with those SEC teams you listed.

Years past are irrelevant, especially since they went 5-7 last year.
