Quote a post and see the post number in it - it's over 1,000,000. Maybe some posts got deleted. Not sure why the discrepancy, but there have been 1,000,000 posts. I guess there could be a 1,000,000th active posts, but only one will have the little 1000000 when you quote it, and that is the post linked to above.
