And regardless of the squareness of the contact, throwing an intentional elbow at a player's head deserves to be punished. There is clear intent there which cannot be ignored just because he didn't get all of him and the Duck's player may have embellished a bit.

But his head snapped back, even in slow-mo, at about the time the elbow passed in the vicinity of his nose.
