Don't you guys need those picks though? Benn costs what, like a first or something around there?

That's the thing, Dallas has blown their wad this off-season, not sure how much more owner Tom Gagliardi is willing to allocate for salary.

The St. Louis Blues have agreed to terms on a five-year contract with forward T.J. Oshie worth an average annual value of $4.175 million. The 25-year-old forward was a restricted free agent after agreeing to a one-year, $2.35 million contract with the team last summer. The total value of the deal is $20.875 million

The Weber deal got me thinking. Could this be the start of something big in the NHL? For instance would a team be willing to offer Eberle a huge deal just to mess up Edmonton's salary structure going forward?

I hear that Calgary might want both Eberle and the Oil to be screwed.

EDIT: I don't mean screwing Eberle. Whatev... Who am I to judge?

lol - Regarding Eberle, he may just be the best of the young group of Nuge, Hall, Eberle, and Yakupov. It's not as if Edmonton has been shy putting out offer sheets (Penner and Vanek), somebody needs to return the favour.

I can't agree with this one, sir. RNH to me is the smartest player on that team. Once he adds some more muscle, he'll be a major force in this league. He's not known for his shot, but he put up some great scoring numbers for an 18/19 year-old.

I've heard Edmonton wants Mark Streit & sense Defenseman seems to be more valuable than forwards these days maybe they can work something out.:D:

Apparently Garth Snow has told Tambellini that Streit isn't available at this time. Streit to Edmonton makes a lot of sense because Kruger thinks the world of him. I figure if the Isles don't resign him during the season, Streit will probably sign with the Oilers next July.
