Well that was fun. Nice to see our pitching get ripped to shreds. And yet again our offense seems to put it together for just one inning, then sleepwalk thru the others. But it's just one game. It's going to be a looooong season so....oh wait.

I was going to say that I think Grandal's off days should more revolve around when we face a lefty (he hits better from the left side) than when we play a day after night game. But then I looked and we're yet to be scheduled to face one. So... McCann it is today.

Looking at this Dobnak guys numbers from the minors and his 5 starts last year. Yeesh. This ain't your typical Uber driver. lol. He's done a very good job at every level. Including up in the bigs last season.

A lot of big righty bats in the Twins lineup and Kuechel (of course) is a lefty. A little worried.

I opened the thread to say...

Moncada continues to get better and it arouses me very much. He's been phenomenal with two strikes so far. Fouling off pitches, working a walk, and hitting a bomb yesterday. His K% appears to be poised to continue to dip and his other numbers rocket ship up. Kid is seriously one of the best players in the game, at this moment, IMO. I love watching him.

I couldn't believe White Sox fans called him a bust after his first full season.

Both umps behind the plate have had some bad moments. In fairness, they haven't seen many pitches this year either. Still, gotta be better.

Really low pitch count too, so gonna be around awhile.

Definitely. Big zone definitely favors Keuchel. But as long as the ump is consistent can't complain, gotta adjust.

We're watching Nicky's final days in the major leagues this year, IMO. He's totally lost. After Mazara returns - he may be DFA'd to never return. At least, with Engel, you get elite defense.

BTW, I realize he did a good job extending that AB. But he got plenty of pitches to drive there and it's so weak. All arms just flailing at the baseball.

Highest paid player on Sox sits out on day 2 of the season. Worst bat on Sox roster is guaranteed to have a plate appearance in 2nd inning or sooner in a game that has much importance because we lost last night.
