Sir Robin Of Camelot
You seem angry. Miserable, even.
They recorded the whole thing in a single day supposedly. Sirius did a retrospective on it recently.. people called in with their recollections about their introduction to it. A buddy of mine picked it up after it was released in the states and of course I'd never heard anything like it, because there was nothing like it. I immediately bought it and Paranoid which had just come out on top of it. I've never really been a metal fan but I still go back to those 2 occasionally.
I also read that they basically handed the raw tracks from the 1st album over to the record company with no input on the production. The band had no idea what the final product sounded like until the album was released. That’s almost impossible to fathom. I do love those first two albums... but Master of Reality might be my favorite Sabbath album. That album always seemed to me to be the line of demarcation where if you weren’t heavier than that, then you weren’t heavy enough.
