I don't give a fuck
It's not fair at all how the NFC East and AFC South get rewarded with home playoff games for playing like shit all year long.
I have no problem with the current format. Winning a division should be rewarded. It is generally understood that winning a division is a teams primary goal, not to be confused with the ultimate goal which has something to do with a great big game that Owls go to, I guess.
I think for wildcard weekend, the team with the better record should get homefield. Winning the division shouldn't guarantee a home playoff game if you were in a crappy division.

It comes and goes. There is nothing permanent year to year in the NFL.
Teams routinely go from last place to first place and back again within short time frames.
Every single division has been won by a team with 9 wins or fewer in the last 25 years
Heck, Philly was 10-6 last year and did not even make the playoffs
This year this might get a home game at 7-9
The NFL is totally fine.
Everyone loves division rivals.
And if a team cannot beat a 7-9 team on the road, well they are not good enough to complain.

These things run in cycles it wasn't that long ago when the NFC and AFC West were the laughing stock of the NFL. I think the divisions are fine as is I do think Wildcard should be played at the division winner's field as some reward for winning their division. However, for the divisional round I think it should be reseeded so the stronger teams get to host.
