I am not a big time FA guy because teams tend to overpay. I do believe if you are going to pay big they should be at the top of the game. So in order...

Donte Hightower...8 mil/season.
Kawann Short...8-10 mil but I think that is way lower than he will get.
Alshon Jeffrey...8 mil because of the suspension.

Hightower would be huge for us. But we are getting way ahead of ourselves.

But i would not shit a brick if we some how managed to add Levon Bell to our back field. :D

Free agency is not where you get RBs. You milk the talent out of rookies on cheaper deals and when they need to get paid, let them go and rinse/repeat. Joe Mixon would fit this offense like a glove.

He'd fit our offense, like a glove. He's just as good a runner, as pass-catcher. It'd also be cool because he'd be reunited with his QB from Michigan St. Still, I can live with Fat Rob and Chris Thompson.

How many times has he been suspended for violating the substance abuse policy? At least a couple, right? Plius he's gonna wanna be paid.

Bell might just be the best all around RB in football right now though. No doubt he has serious skills.

Yep pass on anyone who has had a drug suspension, you can't count on them. No way on a 35 year old as well. It is interesting that all of these guys seem to fit a need but I wouldn't count on SM signing any of them, not his MO.

Draft a damn safety!

Yeah, I doubt the Skins sign any players mentioned in this thread. I'm not too keen on signing any non_Redskin FAs with the exception of Short possibly.

Far as the potential situations that could pop up at WR. I think the Skins keep PG or Djax, but not both and the Harris kid needs to keep getting looked at. I like his size, 6'3" 205 pounds, though he's no speed demon if 4.56 is his best run 40 time. Retaining Vernon Davis is looking more and more like a step in the right direction as well.

And oh, yeah, draft a safety, sign a safety in FA, sumpthin! Blackmon has looked pretty decent though.

One more thing - If there's such a thing as a tackling guru or something similar. Get him on the team with a quickness! Its just plain ol' painful now watching what passes for tackling by the Skins as the game goes on.

LG Leary from Dallas if they can't convice Trent to move there.

I'd love to get.one of these guys.
FS Berry from KC
SS McDonald from LA
SS Jefferson from AZ

I'd rather just resign Jackson and Garçon on three year deals if possible, than spend big money on Jeffery who just got suspended. This allows us to keep Crowder in the slot.

On Crowder's TD the high safety ran to help out on Jax. This also allows us to not have to depend on Doctson. There have been rumblings that the kid is just homesick.

DE in the first, and NT in the second.

Love how Scot has found cheap fa/undrafted talent. We are set up nicely to bring in some real talent. No one over 29 I hope and guys that love to compete (ex. Norman).

I don't mind spending big if it makes sense. Norman has been great for us and some on here were understandably skeptical based on this team's history. Sometimes you just have to go get playmakers and difference makers. Just have to do your homework.

Teams like Denver, Oakland, and others have been able to really add to their team through FA.

Singing people on the wrong side of 30 and trading picks for vets is what used to get us in trouble. I agree, building through the draft and getting depth through undrafted free agents is the way to go. However, I see nothing wrong with rounding out the roster with a dynamic player or two.

We pissed and moaned for years about how Mara conspired to rob us of our cap space. We finally have that space back. I think we should use it. We're close. Just hope Scot doesn't come up short again this off-season in free agency.
