lol - My goodness, who starts this stuff - Hey, Wideman has been pretty good thus far for Calgary, but he's far down the list for Team Canada defenseman consideration.

I like Ferraro's little bit about Fleury, including "and a gold medal from Vancouver."

How about we tell the whole story here and include the fact that Fleury didn't see a second of icetime in that entire tournament.

and who starts ? Is Bobby Lou #3 and is he gonna have to "Martin Brodeur" both of them?

I think I would go into the tourney with Price as the starter, but give each goalie a game in the preliminary round and see how things shake out.

Canada's depth is pretty damn good at forward, but no mention of Jason Spezza?

Fourth in scoring in the league last year and won more faceoffs than everyone in the league who isn't Patrice Bergeron.

I'd like to see a scoring line based around Spezza and Tavares. Those two showed nice chemistry at the Spengler. Maybe with Nash?

Notable US players off the top of my head:

Parise, Suter, Kessel, Kane, Kesler, Stastny, Dustin Brown, Yandle, Quick, Miller, Callahan, Ballard, the Johnsons. I think more or less all the big guns from last time around minus Langs and Rafalski.

Umberger. Umberger is American. He should go. We should also rest him now so he's ready.

I had a glimmer the dream of Spezza with Nash was possible a while ago, but the deal never got done and they went after Carter instead.

Those two would destroy anything in their wake. Tavares there too would just not be fair.

I agree. Jordan Staal is good but he is unbelievably overrated, probably because of his brother and the fact he was part of the Sid/Malkin Penguins.

not official, but groups should be:
- CZE, SWE, SUI, LAT
- FIN, CAN, NOR, AUT
- RUS, SVK, USA, SLO

big disappointment for Denmark
and funny that Slovenia and Slovakia are in the same group. I want Bob Cole to announce that game.
