wow ... the canucks could have buried him in the minors but they did him a favour by trading him to a team where he will be on the nhl roster (yes the trade for Parent might eventually save them 300k in a future recall but they could have left OBrien in manitoba all year)
like i heard this morning ... AV didnt take those pictures at the Roxy and forward them to deadspin ... AV didnt forcefeed SOB during the olympic break and cause him to gain 14 pounds. SOB did it all to himself. sack up , youre supposed to be a pro
wow not one word of accepting his own role in that trip to teh dog house. just that he was upset they didnt hide it from the media for him. I think hes very immature for a NHL player and needs to wake up. AV didnt handle it professionally either but this is just another reason why he doesnt deserve to be in this lineup. I hope he has a great season and grows up along the way.
Darcy Hordichuk could have taken a swing at the Vancouver Canucks. He could have poked management or jabbed the coach, but pulled back Wednesday after being traded to the Florida Panthers for Andrew Peters in a swap of 30-year-old enforcers.
In fact, Hordichuk couldn't say enough good things about Mike Gillis and Alain Vigneault. He thanked them for an experience that was "above and beyond" and lauded them for setting the bar high with forward-thinking ventures, like fatigue science and sleep analysis and giving players everything to be successful on and off the ice.
However, Hordichuk will make no apologies about what he hopes to experience Monday at Rogers Arena. He will pester Henrik and Daniel Sedin. He will prod at Ryan Kesler and expects somebody to challenge his right to do so. Could be Tanner Glass. Could be Guillaume Desbiens. Could be interesting.
"Business is business," said Hordichuk. "There's a little more hunger in this kid's heart and it's going to start with Edmonton [Sunday] and carry on for the rest of this season. For me, it's an opportunity to show why I belong in the league and I can't let anything get in the way of that."
Peters will report to the Manitoba Moose and his $500,000/$75,000 split on his two-way deal means he doesn't require waivers as a Canucks roster option.
