Bogaerts offers thoughts on Betts returning to Sox in 2021
Xander:
“Hey, you know... probably, maybe in a year,” Bogaerts said of potentially getting Betts back in 2021, per Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com. “We’ll see how that goes. He knows what he means to us and we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.”
Could Xander Bogaerts recruit Mookie Betts back to Red Sox?
and after covid??

The MLBPA is making a proposal to MLB for a season of around 89 games with a full prorated share of salary and expanded playoffs, sources familiar with the situation told ESPN. It would bring the sides closer to a potential deal and is ~25 games under the last union offer.

Maybe because there could potentially be a lot playoffs/majors being played at once and it may be difficult to get a tv slot? Just a back load of sports. Idk. I’m just spitballing. This what I don't get. After the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01, they stopped playing for 2 weeks, and pushed everything back two weeks. Game 7 of the world series was something like 11/4.
Why all of a sudden is there a hard 9/27 deadline?

According to Ken Rosenthal and Evan Drellich of The Athletic, the MLBPA will reject MLB's latest return-to-play proposal.
The plan proposed by the league on Monday morning called for a 76-game regular season in which the players would get 75 percent of their prorated salaries. The union, meanwhile, continues to demand 100 percent prorated salary shares. Another (new) sticking point is that MLB wants all players to sign an “acknowledgment of risk” waiver that would absolve the league of responsibility should a player have complications related to COVID-19. The situation could change quickly, but for now it feels like the two parties have made very little progress toward a return-to-play agreement. One might even argue that they're moving backward

Now that would be a turn if MLB players can't strike, have not found an article saying the same but man that puts all the cards in the owners hands.
Karl Ravech of ESPN reports that Major League Baseball's counter proposal on Friday is expected to be for roughly 70 games and 80-85 percent pro rata pay for players.
MLB's last offer was for 76 games at 75 percent pro rata, so it doesn't seem like this latest proposal will move the needle much, especially with the players being insistent on receiving full prorated salaries. The official details of MLB's counter proposal should be revealed soon. Jon Heyman of MLB Network speculates that the two sides have about five days to reach an agreement before commissioner Rob Manfred will exercise his right to implement a shorter season.
