If this persists and lasts until.., let's say Dec.. What does that do to the schedule if they start that late. Do they just play what would be the remaining games on their original schedule, or would the NHL make new schedules for all the teams? Just curious..

new schedule, as it would have to be balanced.
(ie. not fair if team A avoids its brutal early season roadtrip, while team B has theirs scheduled at the end of the year)

If i remember right in 94-95 they played the 48 game schedule and there were no games out of conference. I would assume something similar would be done.

I thought that to, but a friend of mine said I was wrong, He's a Lightning fan so I guess I shouldn't have listened to him.

I reiterate my position that everything is just simpler if there's no lockout.

The other thing i am curious about is my season tickets payments. The Penguins debit my bank account the 1st of each month June through January. If there is a lockout i would not put it past them (or any NHL team) to continue to take my money without a CBA in place. Sheer greed.

I don't think they could do that since they weren't providing the product promised for your money. If you do get charged, and you get no tickets, you would have grounds for legal action for product fraud or something of the sort.

You are probably right. It's just the cynic in me talking that all corporations are greedy... lol

Please NHL...I've been looking forward to the next "Columbus invasion" for freaking 18 months now.
