I hope you have BP meds...he's going nowhere. They are drafting no one.

It is "In Andy we Trust" or Bust.

:suds:

Unfortunately, this is the situation, which is why I am not getting my panties in a bunch like some, because nothing we can do about it.

I would like to see them draft a guy to compete with Dalton, and at least give us a formidable backup incase Dalton does get hurt or go down.

Josh Johnson is not on this roster to protect Dalton's ego, he was here to protect Gruden's ego who had a hand in drafting him years ago in Tampa. He wanted to prove, he didn't make a mistake with Johnson and he can be salvaged in his system. Not the case. Johnson can't hit the broad side of a barn, but he can run. Running alone does not make a QB in this league. We need to move on from Johnson, so I wouldn't mind some competition for Dalton, but I put no faith in management changing away from Dalton.

You try to put together the best roster possibile, and there is no harm in having a talented guy sitting behind Dalton if he will take the job, most talented ones won't, but if you draft them, they have no choice. Ask Aaron Rodgers. Dalton is frustrating, but we for the most part win on a consistant basis with him at QB, but if he goes down, we would be lucky to sniff 4 wins even with our playmakers and good defense. Johnson? Robinson? eeks.

So we get good Andy for two weeks, now it's bad Andy again. Drives me nuts. Haven't seen the grades yet, as PFF is slow to post today. But without seeing them I'm pretty sure it's bad. I can't really think of any good plays he made yesterday, and high, inaccurate overthrows were predominant in his misses. Throw in some bad pocket presence and panic while rushed and that pretty much sums it up. Wouldn't have been a game at all yesterday except Flacco was nearly as bad.

If you want Jesus help, Jwill, we need to bring in Tebow for a temporary pay check.

at least he'll visit the children's hospital and fill the stands with us tebowmaniacs, heck, if he runs for 1 TD a game he's a fantasy football hero.

I'd rather watch 'bad' than mediocre
an 8-8 or 7-9 team is the worst case in the NFL. miss the PO's and get a crappy 1st rounder

Unfortunately this is most of the NFL. There are very few elite teams. Look what happened yesterday in the AFC..... The Bengals (leaders of the North) looked pathetic on offense while losing to a 3-5 team that hadn't held a lead in three weeks. The Colts (leaders of the South) were destroyed by a Kellen Clemens led last place team from out of conference. The Titans (a popular favorite for the second wildcard) lost at home to a team that was thought to be epically bad.

There will be three AFC teams in the playoffs that aren't all that different from the rest of the teams that don't make the playoffs. There will be probably one AFC team that could win a Super Bowl -- Only the guy that leads them is Peyton Manning, so it's not exactly clear that they'll get there.

The coaches love Andy.

He's going nowhere. He' receive a 5 year extention at the end of this year.

Might as well forget about Johnson getting a shot, unless Dalton goes down with an injury.

This is an interesting article to the contrary. Much of it sounds obvious now, but at the time it was extremely controversial....

If the coaches weren't bullish on his upside after a great rookie season, I doubt much has changed in the last 25 games

Worst rating of Dalton's career, which makes sense because it was probably the worst game of his career

It was certainly difficult to watch.

Try to control yourself big guy. We know how aroused you must be.

Curious, have you made a safe landing yet off the Dandy bandwagon from a few weeks ago?

Don't fret, there will be a stretch run next season as well for you to jump back on. I promise.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Find one post where I said anything other than the kid was playing with confidence. I picked against him four straight times and even posted pictures of the Kool-Aid guy when discussing others thoughts about him. But hey, don't let facts get in the way.

Kettle, is that you?

Find me a single one of my posts from 3-4 weeks ago when I said anything other than Dalton has played spectacular, but to simply tame expectations and allow it to play out before anointing him anything - including an improved and or changed player.

Funny how it works both ways.

All I said was 'contain your enthusiasm.' There were two different folks that suggested you are excited about Dalton's failures. I think that makes my comment topical to the Bengals SportsHoopla board.

Your comment was out of left field.

And that makes it fact?

If I only dealt on facts, I don't think I'd last long on a sports message board.

Besides, perceptions and opinions of others have little to do with facts..... It's all context. You should know that.

Well you got defensive pretty fast when I grouped you in the same category as the two that suggested I enjoy it when Dalton plays badly. It works both ways. You should be able to take it as well as you dish it then.

LOL! Okay. I think if there is anyone that can 'take it' it would be me. I'm about the only person around here that hasn't asked for you to be banned.... And given that I can do that myself, I'm pretty sure you know how little it bothers me.

And I'm not quite sure what you mean by defensive. Was there a more polite way for me to disagree with you? I can try harder.
