Vinnie Rey....13 tackles....3 sacks.....a pick....That's about three seasons of production for Maualuga, right?

I must be drunk. This was supposed to start a new thread.

Never mind.

And yes.... Vinny Rey! Who fucking knew?

Not us.... How could we? Imagine the talent we have on that bench..... Guys that can't move up the depth chart because of Marvin's odd loyalty to players that suck.

Rey was a dominant force out there today, unlike Maualuga...ever....

Josh Johnson is probably the next Doug Williams....but we'll never know.

What Josh Johnson is is job security for Andy Dalton. Though another performance like today and I wouldn't be opposed to Johnson getting a look.

Josh Johnson sucks worse than Dalton.

Vinny Rey is not nearly as good as he was today. He played great, but has not been able to get more playing time because he is inconsistant. He has had chances, finds himself out of position, over pursues, and can't cover either. Today though, he one of those games he will always remember.

When Maualuga comes back, it will be his job to lose. Rey will get another chance next week while we rest Maualuga against Cleveland and prepare to bring him back after the bye. Rey earn another start after today, and no point in rushing Maualuga. God I hate saying that, because I have developed this love to hate relationship with Maualuga over the last few years.

What are you basing this on? I honestly can't remember the guy getting much time on D in the past two or three seasons. And I certainly can't remember a time where he had a full week of preparation to be a MLB on Sunday. Can you? Am I misremembering? I assumed he never really played anything but ST.

Sometimes you just need a chance. Vinnie Rey had a game today unlike Maualuga never had. That to me is reason enough to keep playing him.

But I agree, Johnson is not only worse than Dalton, his documented play so far in his career would put him near the bottom of all backups.

I never seen him have a full chance to really prepare for a starting role other than the last couple weeks, and in Miami, nothing to write home about, but in the previous time, I am basing my opinion on him getting plays here and there as they rotate, etc. Just seemed out of position a lot to me when he was in the field of play on defense and not special teams.

He had a whale of a game today though, I loved seeing that.

I'm intrigued by Vincent Rey. Limited sample size to go on, but made plays all over the field and put up stats Maualuga could only dream of. That being said, Josh Johnson has proven in the past that he has no business on an NFL roster much less starting for this team. I don't care how bad Dalton looks, change for the sake of change isn't always a good thing. Our QB woes will have to be solved in the offseason. The answer is not on the roster currently.

I agree. Josh Johnson is on this roster to protect Andy's ego. Everyone knows he's not a starter.

The coaches love Andy.

He's going nowhere. He' receive a 5 year extention at the end of this year.

Might as well forget about Johnson getting a shot, unless Dalton goes down with an injury.

I hope you have BP meds...he's going nowhere. They are drafting no one.

It is "In Andy we Trust" or Bust.
