If he didn't think he could win, then the NFL would've thought the same thing and would not have settled the case with him. Something like 95% of lawsuits are settled before trial. Going to trial and prolonging a case can really suck for both sides.

It all comes down to money. This amount is nothing for the NFL and it is easier to settle to make something go away. As for collusion he had no chance of proving that against the lawyers the NFL would bring. He waited it out until this was going to happen.
In the end they both win, Kap gets paid and for the NFL this is over. We probably will never know but I bet that settlement included him never playing in the NFL again.

Well, I don't think you, me or anyone else would turn down that money not to work.

My question is, what does he do with it? If he keeps donating to charity, it will be continually more difficult to call him a "sell-out".

Without question I’d sell out, but I also don’t take money saying I’m a symbol for some cause. If he were really all about the cause he would’ve seen this lawsuit through and at worst come out with zero money but made all of the NFL documents about the kneeling shit public to where it embarrassed the NFL. I mean how different would society be if MLK Jr. just took money to quit protesting instead of going to jail broke and paying legal fees.

It was always about the money OP, he knew damn well the only reason he had some remote success in the league was cause Harbugh changed his whole play book for the is guy! keep never gave two shits about playing in the league, it was a platform for him to use for his political statements...
