After yesterday, I don't see how the pick is not Burrow now. That was a disaster.

To add on to Burrow as the pick - the lions are allowing Guard Graham Glasgow to test the F/A market. One of the best guards in the game right now, brother to Bengals current Ryan Glasgow, and has the ability to play RG/LG and C (yes, I know Hopkins just signed, and he had an actually pretty good year).

If the Bengals are truly going to draft Burrow (and I have no issue with this) the OL has to be the #1 target/priority in F/A and probably in the draft. They are going to have to spend some money on spots where they traditionally do not.

Yes, I know - this is still the Bengals we are talking about so it won't happen - just something I saw.

I think that would be a good idea with Glasgow. If we resign Green, and I honestly can't predict that one, then I think OL in round 2 at pick 33 makes a lot of sense. If we do not resign Green, I think we need to go WR in round 2, maybe one of Burrow's LSU WR's that he has a good rapport with, Justin Jefferson. The year we drafted Green/Dalton we did that in round 1 and 2, this just may be the year we let both guys walk, save 36 million and draft their replacements in round 1 and 2, just opposite order, which is the ideal way to draft your QB/WR combo.

However, if we do that, I think we have to spend some of that free agent money, and we have to address OL and LB. Glasgow would be a good start on the line, with Jonah Williams, Hopkins and maybe draft Isaish Wilson, RT from Georgia in the 3rd round, if he declares.

Go after Myles Jack from Jax to be one of our LB's in FA. I like the way Pratt came around at the end of the year. Draft a LB in the 4th round that is maybe dropped a little bit, that has a 2nd to 3rd round grade on him to go with Pratt, Jack and a edge rusher in Lawson. Resign Dennard also to the secondary. I am liking Phillips though.

I saw enough from Boyd and Tate to think that a WR, while would be nice, isn't a huge need. Certainly could still use a reliable #3, as well as a true threat at TE. Having a true TE that any QB can use to check down to in pressure situations is a major security blanket to have, especially for a young QB.

If the Bengals are smart - AJ will NOT be on this team next year. Tag/Trade him, or whatever - but locking him in for another 3-4 years at nearly 15-19MM a year is flat out stupid for a guy who has played all 16 just twice in the last 5 years - and has battled various other injuries that have hampered his play.

I loved that the guy is/was a Bengal - but this is about the future - and that money is much better spent on guys who are actually going to contribute to winning than holding on to, what will end up being, a nearly 34 year old WR in another year, making 15-20MM a year, and injured or on the down-side of his career.

Tag him, trade him, take a mid-round pick for him - do the same with Dalton and get a mid-round pick for him - and use that money to upgrade the OL in F/A, use the picks to develop the depth across the board.

I know, it's the smart thing to do - so anytime in the off-season you can expect that 4 year deal worth about 75MM to be announced - and you can almost take it to the bank that AJ will play in just 1 full season, while taking up way too much cap space for a team that won't compete with him.

And for what it's worth - AJ green has played in just 3 more games over the last 3 years than Tyler Eifert.

Let that sink in, for a 32 year old WR about to embark on the back-end of his career. He's played in just 3 more games than a guy who is known for not being on the field.

I have no issue with a one year tag and letting him play it out.

I think he has marginal trade value for all of the reasons you mentioned (age, injury, contract value) making him worth not much in a trade. If he can return to health and give a young QB a true number one reciever early in his career that very important. Id roll thw dice unless someone is giving up a premium pick
