I'm not so sure this is the best idea for RG3, especially this year. If we do it, I'd like to wait a year. P

The fact that this is featured on the Skins home page would have one thinking it is under serious consideration for this year. Especially since the Skins are double exempt from being told by the league that they have to do it.

According to the league, the first step in the annual process of choosing a team to appear on the show would be to ask for a volunteer. If there is none, the league would create a pool of teams that would be required to appear if selected.
The teams exempt from such a mandatory appearance are those with new head coaches, those that reached the playoffs in either of the previous two seasons and those that had appeared on the show within a 10-year span.

Which gives us a pass for this year & leaves the Bears, Bills, Cardinals, Giants, Jaguars, Raiders, Rams and Steelers as teams the NFL could mandate to appear on the show.

My whole point was, I dont think they actually put this in print on Redskins.com unless they were considering volunteering. I know its a dead news cycle time for the Skins, but this isnt something you just bring up and put out there. Not with the whirl wind of press fiasco's we have had this past year.

It is curious that they put this teaser on their web site but after the negative news cycle of last year, you'd think that Allen and Snyder would want to take a low key approach this year. Who knows, Snyder is all about marketing and maybe he sees this as a potential money maker.

There is always that angle. Not to mention it might also be used as a tool to get rid of some of the negative press associated with his star player at the moment. Show him being coached and actually taking coaching as this has been a huge question recently. I could see them doing this as a spin piece.

That's an interesting take. I could see it, still don't want it, however.
