I did this last year, I picked Phoenix Coyotes, my first season of following them? They go to the WCF. Genius pick, but the main reason I picked them was the hopes of them relocating to Portland.

Yeah they are off to a terrible start so far this year, but last years run wasn't expected either so lets hope they sneak back into the playoffs. A consistent winner in that franchise SHOULD help it stay in Phoenix.

I gave PHX a whirl since I did live there for 12 yrs, Yotes are the only game Ive ever been to. But the WC time diff is just too much to handle. Pac 12 games would come on here at like 330 am and shit, no bueno

Yeah, that time difference would be brutal......I remember being in Sasebo, Japan for the 94 kickoff classic Nebraska vs West Virginia and watching that at 3:30 in the morning......what's worse is the picture we had was awful......very snowy picture, you could hardly see the ball so trying to follow passing plays to see if they were caught or not was out of the question......thankfully we ran the ball a ton back then......

Now that CFB is all done with I'm thinking about getting into watching NHL for really the first time, in serious mode. Not really sure who to follow. Maybe someone can help pick a team for me. Don't really care if the team is world beater or not, however pretty fucking sure it won't be a Canadian team. I will consider all input.

Heres my suggestion..I notice you like the Tigers and Lions..why not stick with the Red Wings?

I'm a 49er fan so at first I thought about being a Sharks fan since theyre close by...but, to me, hockey is meant to be played in COLD cities. So I decided against SJ. I live in the DC area so I've decided to root for the Caps...for better or worse haha.

So Ive narrowed it down to 4 teams, possibly a 5th. I'm going to watch a game from each before I choose one. May come down to drawing from a hat. Teams I got on the list are, in no particular order, Sabres Devils Red Wings Rangers, possibly Bruins as a sub

My choice for you obviously is the Sabres but.......

Devils have some really good players and a good style of hockey and although I may despise the Rangers and Red Wings and maybe the Bruins...something has to be said about them being half of the original six.

All good choices in my book.
