I think its hilarious how Keith Law among others always rip D-Backs when we retaliate or show anything towards standing up for themselves

But if Boston, NY, or LA do that, its just "baseball", and how it goes

It's ridiculous. The Pirates lead the league in HBP, yet the Dbacks are the scum of the Earth as soon as they retaliate. Just like you said, if the Yankees or Dodgers retaliate, they're just sticking to the "unwritten rules of baseball". If the Dbacks do it, then everyone goes crazy.

Last season, Ian Kennedy pitches inside and unintentionally hits Puig in the "face". Dodgers retaliate by intentionally hitting one of our players. Dbacks are the bad guys.

This season, Pirates pitcher tries to pitch inside to Goldy and unintentionally breaks his hand. Dbacks retaliate by intentionally hitting a Pirates player. Dbacks are the bad guys.

We can't win.

I'm all for retaliation but this would have never happened if Gibson stuck to his plan of giving Goldy an off day. Now we have to watch this AAA team for the remainder of the season. Shameful that Goldy won't get his Silver Slugger award that had his name practically engraved in it.

The hate this team still gets from the media is ridiculous. They need to get over what happened last year and face the truth. I GUARANTEE every team in baseball would retaliate if their star player was HBP and had their season ended, intentional or not.

I'm all for Gibby going after McCutcheon. The logic that is missing with these media hacks is this:

You're up 9-4 and an irrelevant team's best player is at the plate. If you want to risk going that inside and you don't have the skills to control it, it should be ASSUMED it was intentional.

The sad part was it took the steaming turd Delgado two pitches to hit the guy.

Heh. Your team fired their pitching coach for not instructing pitchers to throw at hitters, might as aim well be the best at something.
