What's the matter Ryan, does Penner box you out at the doughnut plate every morning?

Kind of weird, Smitty doesn't seem like the kind of guy to hamstring his GM by making that kind of thing public, and Lombardi doesn't seem like the type of GM to make that stuff public. Although I also never though Smyth would leave Edmonton over a few thousand on his contract, either... hey, the Oilers should be happy, at least SOMEONE willingly wants a trade to their organization...

Smitty doesn't really fit Edmonton's profile anymore.
over 30, and over 6'1

he does have the mullet down pat though.

Do you think this was all a publicity stunt by Lowebellini to make it sound like players actually wanted to go to Edmonton?

wouldn't put it past him, but sounds like this one originated in LA

fta: A deal certainly isn't imminent and won't necessarily be an easy transaction for either the Los Angeles Kings or Oilers to close, but sources tell TSN the 35-year-old left winger has indicated to the Kings his preference would be to play next season in Edmonton if a trade can be worked out.

For the record, I stand by my story 100 per cent. Totally accurate in every regard. Not much else I can say beyond that. Speaks for itself.

also, if Lowebellini is going to make shit up, you'd think they'd set their sights a bit higher than a Ryan Smith sequel.

Well it's like if you were a used car salesman... no one would believe you if you told them the car used to be owned by Tom Hanks, but if you tell them John Voight...

whoo hoo cap space for Richards being freed up.
I think that we will never learn the truth. If they trade him they will say that no one talked about it until after the story was written and they all thought maybe that isn't a bad idea.
If no trade happens they will say see told you he was pulling a rabbit out of his ass.
