The Q
Hoop’s Villain, Reality’s Hero
Again, just because Kryptonite didn’t exist “naturally” on Earth until ‘89 Doesn’t mean that Kryptonians were ignorant about its properties before then. Krypton had been a space faring world for centuries by the time it blew up. I think it is more likely that they discovered its properties when in the vicinity of a yellow star than assuming they hadn’t. Again, they had a long history in the Sol System with their political relationship with Martians and their visitations on Earth.
You are assuming that Kryptonite didn’t exist until Krypton exploded. But Kryptonite is just a piece of Krypton by my theory. It is completely inert until exposed to the radiation of a yellow star (Sol, for example). Since the Kryptonian system has a red star, Kryptonite does not hurt Kryptonians when not near a yellow star.
As for Erica Durance, I was never a fan. But I get that they wanted a contrast from the petite young looking Kristin Kreuk, so they went with the Amazonian to play Lois. That makes sense from a casting POV. Introducing her so early was a bit disappointing. And having her actually attending Smallville High? Ridiculous.
one question I have that maybe you have a theory for...
Why didn’t Lex know who Jason was? They basically grew up together, but I never got the sense that they knew each other.
I liked the way they wrote Lois. As a character. But I thought she was brought in a season too early. But again, they needed another friend to replace Pete.
I’m trying to remember, re:Jason. They didn’t make it clear either way imo. He clearly knew who the Teagues were. They kinda rewrote their childhood in s7. Jason probably just didn’t go to the same prep school. I don’t think they said exactly where he went besides MetU for football.
