By the way, only 9,128 at the Oilers - Jackets game last night in Columbus...

Ah ha! There's an answer here too. For some reason (and I can't figure this out), Columbus NEVER does trick or treating on Halloween night. Trick or treating was Thursday night. I know because as I sat in my driveway giving out candy, I had the game blasting from my garage. A few of the neighbors hung out and listened for a while.

Plus, it was the Oilers.

As for overall attendance... ya think there's something to this whole recession thing?

Yes, no doubt the recession is having an impact and people have to make sacrifices. I guess I'm just waiting for the next "State of the Union" from the commish and if he says that there are 30 strong franchises in the league one more time, I just may put a brick through my tv.

At least David Stern has been quoted as saying that contraction is a possibility for the NBA and that the league is having tough financial times.
