Usually you dont sign a UDFA to a 3 year deal with a signing bonus unless you think he has a fair shot at making roster. Hoffman rakns right around where Brandon Coleman did, many thought he was draftable.

Maybe its because he would have to come in and put up 1 TD for every five touches in order to get a starting spot in DC??

Wow, that was quick. Clearly they didn't see anything in gettis when he wasn't injured.

Not really. The signing bonus was a drop in the bucket. Three years means they likely see him as good enough to maybe make roster and it gives them long term rights at a reasonable price.

Yeah Dad, this is a real head scratcher for me. They have actively sought to get bigger at Wideout, yet cut one of only two who meet the criteria. He's young (26) has speed and size, yet they decided to keep S. Moss, someone because he's older, slower and shorter has nearly zero shot a making the final cut. The ONLY rationale that fits, is that Gettis has not fully or determined to likely never recover from that knee injury suffered in his second season. It really makes no sense to keep Moss out of loyalty instead of someone who can contribute.

Sty... this coaching staff would have no loyalty to Moss. Maybe Gettis wasnt healthy.

I agree, but many here have said that his resigning was based on tenure/loyalty. Just trying to be proactive. Gettis, was probably still not 100% on this we also agree.

Again I have got to call BS on the whole loyalty thing. New coaching staff, they arent going to sign a guy who they do thing=k can help them. I know every one around here wants to put a guy out to pasture once he hits 30, but Im of the George Allen mindset, no matter how good a rookie was in college give me some one who has actually done it at the NFL level as my starter if at all possible.

as for moss , he is in for a fight but he can return punts .
