Dolohins restructured the contract before the trade, turning 6m of that into a signing bonus. I must say I haven't been this confident in the direction of the team since Joe Gibbs came back. They have the structure for sustained success, just have to find the QB.

I'll be interested to see just how essential or non-essential Kyle Smith was in the coming years.

Gotta love RR for wanting to beef up his offensive line, I like it. Now the 2 best units on the team can get even better battling eachother in practice.

How is Flowers contract structured? Did he already get his guaranteed money? Is there an opt out after year 2? Getting him in year 2 of his contract seems to be good value however to your point, paying Flowers and BS this year is 2 pretty damn expensive guards. Perhaps a trade is looming.

If its only 3 million this year maybe BS is staying.
Whatever the case may be, nice deal for WFT considering how well Flowers played here. Seems he had a few hiccups this past season but I believe in E. Flowers. Great move by the team regardless of BS situation. This FO is killing it.

Miami just signed Fluker for 1M. They were on the hook for Flowers’s 9M but hit away with paying only 6M. The net result is a 2M savings on the exchange.

On a board that's filled with posters who want something for nothing with respect to trades, re-signings, and free agency, I assure you that this version of the den of thieves, all, eh-hem, honorable people mind you, is alive and well. :D

I agree but no one is giving up a 1st for him and his contract , the debate was no OG is worth 18 mil a season so he ain’t going to the fucked up jets for less money or money he could get here
Let's see what the draft holds...

JMO but I think Scherff and Flowers are the starters this year and Scherff is gone the year after. $18 million is a lot of money to spend at the guard position. Very few teams spend this kind of money. Tackles yes, guards no.

Like the depth though. If Schweitzer had gone down, we'd be looking at Charles or Martin getting reps. Additionally, you know Scherff is going to miss his annual five to six games this year.

Which begs the question as to why anyone would trade for his current contract ? You won’t get a 1st at all and he turned down a contract making him the highest paid OG Ever

Yeah, no way we get a 1st. Probably gonna have to settle for a comp 3rd.
I dont get the Scherff situation. I guess he is trying his best to fleece us before he leaves. Maybe he took Bruce lowballing him personally.
