How do you know there won't be a huge market for a QB that was ROY a couple years ago when many of the coaches that raved about him coming out could use him?

How do you know Washington won't sit on his contract? It is possible they could. Why would two teams have already contacted us about a trade if it wasn't a thought?
The reason they won't sit on his contract is they do not have the cap space to sign KC and keep RG3. They would have to do significant cutting and renegotiating. Could it be done? Yes. Is it smart to do it for a high risk gamble that they might find a trade partner after the 9th? No.

Also, no one knows what the demand will be for Bob, but I agree with ATL96, I think the demand is going to be less that others. I say this because the entire league is down on Bob right now. He has failed under two QB friendly coaches. He does not have a good rep in the locker room. And its very realistic that he will never play a full 16 game schedule and could be potentially out of the league in a few years due to serious injury. He doesn't know how to protect himself.

Guys. KC is going nowhere. Every FO executive has said that KC will be a Redskin next year. This notion of a transitional tag is just rumors and speculation. Also, Allen has already come out and said that RG3 is gone. Its just how and when. He will be released sometime before the 9th. They apparently are willing to string it out until the 9th just in case some GM on another team loses his mind (and his job) and trades for Bob. But that isn't going to happen. He will be released.

There are at minimum 5 teams in need of a starting QB right now. I know you tend to discount the Browns, but of all the teams needing a QB, they would be the one I would actually stress about. They have the cap space. And signing Cousins would leave them free to

1. Take Joey Bosa at #2
2. Trade out of the #2 spot if so desired and add more draft picks to improve that roster.

Reality is, this QB class reminds alot of people of the class that produced Blain Gabbert. Meaning a class that doesnt really have a day one starter at the QB position.

Wasn't that Cams draft class? :D

Yep. And do you really think Cam would still be the starting QB if the Panthers tried to run a more traditional offense??

Haha I was just messing with you. But to answer your question yea he'd be fine. People need to realize he's a damn good QB. Like ignore the running stuff, our qb we're about to give 20 mil a year to can't do a single thing he can.

Much like our QB we are about to cut to avoid paying him $16 million, or the guy in SF who many thought might get released as well.... without his legs.... average QB.

Not what I meant. I said ignore the running stuff.

Playing the QB position presnap and in the pocket Cam does all of it better than Kirk. And this isnt some bold statement - its obvious. Him running is just gravy.

I said exactly what i meant. If teams did not have to honor his running ability, I doubt Cam gets the amount of time he usually does in the pocket. Without his legs, Newton is average.

Come on bro. you threw it out there. Newton is a better QB if you ignore his running ability.

On what metric do you base this?? His stellar completion percentage?? His superior Yards per attempt numbers?? Do tell, you got me curious.

LOL oh yes I just "Threw it out there" Such a ballsy statement by me. Did you watch the 2016 NFL season?

The guy has essentially even y/att, more TDs, and wayyyyyyy worse WRs. He's a more accurate, better decision making quarterback, with a stronger arm. This isnt crazy stuff Im putting out here, its pretty common knowledge.

And as i have said, better than 50% of his game is based off of his ability to RUN. He threw for less yards, 6 more TDs with a lower completion percentage. So how much of those 6 extra passing TDs do you think MIGHT have been setup by defense protecting against him taking off running?? Now i know you have a thing for the dual threat QB. But as far as a PURE QB, I think Denver showed what happens to Newton when he isnt allowed to run. IM not suggesting that Kirk is hands down better as a QB yet. But to say Newton is light years better even without the running stuff is bullshit. Without the dual threat element of his game, Newton is Nick Foles.

And you're just making that up. You hate the guy so you pull BS like oh 50% of it is his legs. LOL please provide some evidence of that.

He threw for less yards on less attempts. So why tf would you even bring that up. Its just stupid. Not to mention he lost countless yards to his receivers incompetence far moreso than any other QB in the league.

As for dual threat ehh I dont really care.

Denver didnt show shit BTW. For 1 his recievers once again hurt him somewhat but most importantly - he was facing one of the best defenses ever! Tom Brady didnt look to hot against them either bud.

The last 3 sentences...just wow.... Im thinking you just didnt watch him play, you just saw a couple highlights of him running for a touchdown and remember you hated him and Bam! - opinion!

So we are completely ignoring completion percentage then right?? Because Cam over his career is about 60% tops. that means 4 out of 10 passes go incomplete. And how many of those rushing yards come from plays that were supposed to be a pass and he took off running??

I admit, I dont like him. Flip side is you apparently have a raging mancrush on the dual threat style of QB. And its funny you give him a pass on his WRs dropping balls or HURTING the QB. BUT seem to think this only applies to the Cam Newton types of the world.

Side note... I actually do watch around 70% of the NFL games. So no Im not just basing it off a couple of highlights and remembering i cant stand Newton. His game is based off his ability to run. Defense have to game plan against his ability to run. Without it, he is an average QB.

Yeah, no that's not true.

It is very true. Cam can't throw on time, can't read a defense, and is inaccurate...he can throw it a long ways though. Take away his legs and he is Jeff George...betcha thought I was going to say Jamarcus Russell.
