Agreed.

And this is something to be concerned about with Galette as well. I really hope the Skins did their due diligence there.

No one man can guard Gronk. There was one man and sadly he left us too early. RIP21

Not trying to be an ass, but this immediately jumped out at me like a freakin angry and ready to rumble spider monkey far as this story goes.

Then again, for the Washington Redskins, they’ve only won one road game since the start of the 2014 season,

Yeah, I think Taylor would've held his own against Gronk no doubt. As far as current safeties in the NFL go, what about a healthy Eric Berry or the Hawks Earl Thomas. The Cardinals secondary is also pretty stout. They might have a cover safety who can hang with Gronk.

For the vast majority of the NFL, I say put your #1 CB on him. By no means employ the "Fuck it. Lets not cover his ass at all." defense seen used by both the Steelers and Jets at some point in the Pats games against those teams.

Heh. Ever huh. So is Trent saying the Skins will go with the ol' "Let Gronk rip their asses up to the tune of 6 catches/150 yards/2 TDs, Perry Riley blanket coverage" technique?

Excerpt

In addition to giving Washington a boost in speed and a constant home-run threat, Jackson’s presence also is expected to help create opportunities for his teammates because of the attention defenses will have to dedicate to him. Instead of being able to play safeties shallow as they have been to guard against the run and the short and intermediate passes Washington has lived off of, opponents will likely have to play at least one safety further upfield to give cornerbacks assistance in covering Jackson.

“He can open up everything because I think he gives you the ability to run underneath, intermediate and some things down the field where he’s able to stretch coverage,” Redskins offensive coordinator Sean McVay said. “Any time you’re able to get a player like him back – if that’s what ends up happening on Sunday – it opens up some options because he can do a little bit of everything.”

“The one play that stands out to me is you look at the play that he makes against Seattle last year where Kirk threw him about a 50-yard ball down the left sideline,” McVay continued. “He’s got Earl Thomas and [Byron] Maxwell playing right underneath him and he accelerates through both of those guys. I think he’s got a rare ability to track the ball down the field and really you see that acceleration when the ball is in the air.”

McVay went onto explain that with most wide receivers, he has observed a natural slowing of their pace as they look back to locate the ball in the air, which can enable a defensive back to either catch up to them, or better time the pass. However, Jackson, the coach says, has a craftiness in the way he runs his routes, varies his speeds to confuse defensive backs, and also manages to track the ball behind him while still running at full speed.

Surgery hand still looks a bit swollen to me. Guess that's to be expected. Holding his luggage easily tho.

I love Sean but think he would get torched. Eric Berry and Earl Thomas are far too small to cover Gronk.
