private sale will get you more $$$

Trading in will be less of a PITA

Honestly though if its a decent lil truck, you'd prob be better off just driving it til it dies.

There is no such thing as a "good deal" when you trade. If you want a new ride, sell yours first and then go buy one.

private sales are a bitch if you have never done them. Trading it in you will probably get like $100 if it is beat up.

$750-1500 (depending on shape) its a wholesale rig though, can't retail sell that at a car dealership. You could sell it on your own, but be prepared to be a salesman and explain everything to a potential buyer who is going to try and negotiate with you no matter what your price is. Also a pitfall of selling on your own is scams and people calling or texting at all hours of the night. Especially on a cheap vehicle, they will come out of the woodwork.
