There have been several "good" qb's come out of college in recent years.

Cam Newton
Kapernick
Luck
RG3
Russel Wilson

This has made people start thinking that a rookie can and will change things, but most of the time, in the past it just hasn't worked out for the Bengals.

Akili Smith was great in college
David Klingler was great in college

I'd say "think before you draft"... but then again, no one here is a gm, all any of us can do is bitch.

What do all of those QBs have in common?

Ther can run. A change is coming and we better get on board.

Russell wilson comp % as soph - 59.3

Braxton as soph - 58.3

In fact, Wilson couldn't hit the broad side of a barn til his Sr. year. Braxton is bigger, stronger, and a MUCH better rusher and athlete. The hate is absurd.

Exactly. A QB who can throw for 175 and rush for 100 is just as valuable as the prototypical whitey pocket passer (like a Flacco).

Only until the inevitable season ending injury. Also, you are comparing apples and oranges with Miller vs Wilson. Wilson is pass first. Miller is one read then run. Hey I can root for Miller since he played high school ball about a mile from my house. But he'll have to improve greatly to play pro ball imo.

Nonsense. He's the Heisman favorite right now. He'll be the #1 pick in the draft.

He played for NC State..... Once he transferred to a program that knew what they were doing his accuracy shot way up (over 70%).

Clowney will be the number 1 pick in next year's draft.

And BTW, if you want to argue with me about the 2014 draft, be prepared for me to call you an idiot or question your sexuality. That's how I roll.

If Clowney isn't the #1 pick in next year's draft, the GM who picked anybody else should be fired before the night's over

No.

Give me a pure pocket passer any day of the week. A good defense will mitigate a QB's running game and take him out of his element.

Bring it, assmunch.

I assume Braxton will probably play his Sr. season for the Buckeyes. Hopefully we tank our 2014 season.

Even if he wins the Heisman (doubtful, imo) that doesn't make him resemble an NFL quarterback in any way.

LOL @ doubtful. You've completely lost your mind.

The Buckeyes will be in the championship game in 1 of the next 2 seasons with a QB who will pass for around 3000 yards and rush for around 1500 yards and he will be doubtful for the Heisman?

I'm sorry but that's just pure fucking hate of the highest order and I'm calling your ass out on it.

Why would I hate the guy? He played high school ball a mile from my house for chrissakes, and took Wayne HS to the state championship game. I just don't see a pro skillset yet. He still wants to run after his first read, and his coach is not the guy to get him ready for the pros (Tebow anyone?). Besides, if the Buckeyes do make the NC game, they still have to deal with the SEC. Good luck with that.

Tebow was a 1st round draft pick, won a national championship, and won the Heisman? Am I wrong?

He also fed a multitude with five loaves and two fish. Let's see Braxton top that.
