The time to trade durty was last off season.

He was coming off a damn good year, and looked like he had finally put it all together.

That's hindsight for you...why would we trade a pitcher coming off a damn good year looking like he'd finally put it all together?

That is where his impatience and lack of discipline really hurt him. He's fine when he is being challenged but when they work around him he is not disciplined enough to take what he is given ala Barry Bonds.

You just couldn't resist, could you?

A chance to start over fresh and actually engage in quality baseball talk, but you just have to try and start controversy.

Why would a pitcher ever challenge him if the best way to get him out is to throw him slop?

Do you think Sandoval is a disciplined hitter? Not sure that is a surprise to anyone or controversial.

As if any of us have EVER seen another hitter with as good an eye as Barry Bonds.

Nicely played, Fud. Already starting with the logical fail.

They shopped him. Didn't like the return.

AND...

They wanted him themselves.

Catch 22 there. If a guy doesn't perform, you want to trade him, but you can't get anything. If he does perform, than you can get something, but you don't want to part with him.

They did challenge him in the first inning and they paid for it. I'd like to see him wait for some better pitches but I don't think they will throw him good pitches until they have to. As long as he swings at slop, as you call it, I agree, why throw him a strike? He's got to force the issue by taking some walks and not be afraid to leave it up to the hitters behind him.

I'd give you the first shot...since you're 5' 3" and all, perfect height to deliver that punch.

Yeah, but a chick that hot would never let me get close enough, what with all my acne and coke bottle glasses....

Well, at least Stamos would work an occasional walk. OC tends to be one and done on pitches.

Ever notice he almost always is batting in an 0-2 count?

I agree the guy sucks, but with the bat just slightly less than Stamos.

Thanks Captain Obvious. How did we ever get along without your cogent insight? BTW, how'd that whole "Zito will have a good year" thing work out?

Did you mean in Richmond?
