No Big Ten schools yet? Feeling kind of left out over here.

Yeah, no Big Ten schools have been mentioned yet.

Brad Underwood, current coach @ Illinois, is the guy that brought Lamont Evans to Oklahoma State, though..

I can't say that I'm shocked at the events that have been revealed over the last 24 hours but at the same time, it is somewhat surreal to see all this going down with some big time programs and coaches.

Also, maybe it's just that I live in Nashville but I haven't really heard much about Zona, Miami and a couple of the other schools involved when compared to the attention Louisville is getting right now.

I think that's just because it's a lot easier talking about a specific player, a specific dollar amount for the player, and the way the process worked. I think the other schools would be discussed if the media had the same amount of detail and information that they do on Louisville.

I wouldn't go that far with UNC... that little fraudelent college course thing hasn't completely gone away quite yet.

As Jay Bilas has said multiple times, that's not an NCAA issue :)

Fraudulent classes from the university is an accreditation issue.

Both of their 2018 commitments have already decommitted. Both were five star recruits.

The punishment has already started and Pitino isn't even officially gone yet. He's on "administrative leave".

They probably aren't going to land anyone in 2018. That's pretty big.

Yeah I saw that. But their current roster would be free to leave if that happened wouldn't they?

I don't think anyone gets the death penalty again, but I think Louisville should get the next thing closest to it.

5-6 years of probation, 3-4 year post-season ban, loss of scholarships

I'm already loving it.

Langford was considered a UL lock. Now word is he's almost done deal to Kansas.

Anything to keep increasing the chances Grimes comes to Milwaukee

Jeff Goodman seems to think that Louisville will have no problem replacing Pitino with a good coach.

He also doesn't think that will happen after the conclusion of the season, he thinks that will happen as soon as Pitino is officially gone.

1.) There's either magic pixie dust around Louisville's basketball program
2.) Jeff Goodman is being trolled by his #sauces
3.) Jeff Goodman is nuts.

I think, and I could be wrong, is that if they get a postseason ban, they are allowed to leave and become immediately eligible. I'm trying to think of some precedent and can't think of anything. UL and Syracuse have both imposed a postseason ban, but that was midseason, so the players really couldn't leave.

Uconn was banned from postseason play in 2013. Alex Oriakhi and Roscoe Smith both left and were immediately eligible. Not sure if it's apples to apples though because that was a ban because of APR issues.

Edit* Smith did have to sit out a season. So in other words, I have no f'n clue. lol.

Which is essentially the death penalty. A 4 year post season ban means the first year athletes won't commit to Louisville. Why would you go there if your school is ineligible for post season play all four years you are there?

That's the point. Its the thing closest to the death penalty. The Death Penalty includes a suspension of operations for two seasons. This doesn't include that. Its harsh, but appropriate.
