That's why they tried trading russell for steph straight up a few years ago
How many shots will "point guard" Westbrook attempt tonight?
That's a bit unfair to Westbrook. Brooks' offense is bare bones and isn't really beneficial to put Westbrook in a PG role but people slam him for "not being a PG". Outside of of running a play to get Ibaka a shot every now and then, I'd say 80% of OKC's gameplan involves action to get Durant or Westbrook one on one. On top of that, when they do run set plays, they're simple stuff with one option. There's little continuity. The result of the play if option one is taken away? Westbrook or Durant jacking a shot up late in the shot clock. That's why the "Westbrook shoots too much/isn't a PG" stuff is lazy and a bit unfair. He isn't in a position to do anything else.
It's funny how OKC role players (excluding Ibaka) never shows up in the playoffs consistently
its honestly eerily similar to how LeBron's role players in cleveland never showed up in the playoffs.
...except this OKC team has really good starters, that entire CLE team was role players.
