Looks like the chances of drafting in the top 3 is no longer a possibility.

The Sabres look like a completely different team lately.

2 goals in 12 seconds.

Can you believe this....if the Sabres win and the Rags lose tonight, the Sabres will be 3 points back from the 8th spot in the East.

Figures....Rags score late in the 3rd to tie up the game. It looks like it will go to OT.

Sabres will be at least 4 or 5 points out of 8th place now.

Paul Hamilton just said that the Sabres need to finish 9-1 to make the PO's?

Anyone Agree?

That's why I don't think you can entirely blame Darcy for what has happened the past couple of years.

Pegula strolled into town, opened his checkbook, and wanted to make a statement by throwing his money around. He also was the one who conviced players like Regehr to waive his NTC and come to Buffalo.

The money given to Myers, Leinio and Stafford is also attributed to Pegula as well. It's not like the money is coming out of Darcy's pocket, and I doubt he went ahead without Pegula's permission.

The Sabres looked like a team that should be competitors for the Cup, and mostly everyone believed that they were. No one could have seen players like Myers regress, and Stafford become a waste of skin. Not too mention the core players not gel as well as they were hoping.

The core they built wasn't working, so they are moving on. Good to see them admit it and make the changes now. Also Darcy did a hell of a job once again getting the prospects and picks that he did for Regehr, Leopold, and Pommers.

If the last 2 games are any indication of the new direction this team is headed, then the future looks bright when you factor in players like Larrson, Grigorenko, Girgensons, Armia, and Pysyk.

And I agree that RR is the right coach for all the young talent the Sabres have up and coming.

You just gotta believe.
