This isn't fantasy land. Brodeur finished first in wins last year, first in shutouts, third in GAA and 12th in save % all at the age of 37. There's no room on the Devils roster for a soft, one-dimensional floater, Q.

Exactly, what use do the Devils have for a guy like Semin? They need players that can actually out-produce the other team when it matters (which means at least 3 per game). I like that they're going back to their roots with Arnott. To me, that's a player they should have gotten back sooner.

Believe you me, I was absolutely ecstatic today when I heard they brought Arnott back. We literally had ONE natural center last year (zajac) and the rest were converted from the wing. Now we have Zajac-Arnott-? down the middle.

?= I think Josefson (our first round pick last year) is going to get a shot at centering the third line. You could put two guys like Zubrus and Clarkson on each side and he'd be in an ideal situation. He's already produced in the SEL against men.

Brodeur isn't getting any younger. The devils addressed a big big need today and are a better team now. Time to shift our attention to re-signing Martin.
