I'm a big Superman fan. So instead of blatantly going with something with "Superman" in it, I went with the comic book company that publishes the Superman franchise.

I always read your name as D. Chero. DC hero makes a lot more sense.

favorite radio station growing up had a slogan "dare to be different". Been using dare2be for most of my internet life. When I signed up on ee-ess-pee-en dare2be was already taken, so I just added "me" to the end and thus "beme" was born. Glad I could drop the "me" here...

now that i know of the beme nickname, i'm gonna stick with it! :)

LMAO...I mis-corrected someone who thought you were a Caps fan with "DC hero"..."no, it's D.Chero"

If you're gonna get it wrong, get it right.

My name is a contraction of 'Destroy the core' which was the goal of the old Gradius games. The name has gone through several contractions over the years the current one being from a website that only allowed user name lengths of 12 characters.
I always wondered if you had something against land measurement units, or maybe day care centers.
you know.... If you take out the first 'e', you'd have room for the last 'o' :D

The 42 is inspired by the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It was also my senior year basketball number and my current hockey number.
so.... what was the question?

A Philosophy Major and also a Felix Potvin fan.
you don't see many of those around!

subtle. nice. I thought it was D Chero too.

About 8 years again at an old job, I had just gotten dumped by a girlfriend.
Word got around and then all of a sudden the mail clerk approached me and said she was sorry to hear about it but had a crush on me for a while. I ended up banging her in the mail room later that day and postmaster was my new nickname from my friends. 2230 was the address of the building.
best story yet :D

I always wondered about that, as you always seem to pull references deep out of the wayback machine, and I was drawing a blank on that one. I figured (still do) it was an obscure soccer reference.

I started out at that other place as 43goalie. Because, and this is where my creativity shows, my number was 43 and I am a goalie. Most people called me 43 so when I re-upped after getting the other banned I just went with it.

Been wearing number 43 since I was like 11. I was picked as the backup for a travel team to a tourney, and at the time I wore 34. The starter also wore 34, so I just reversed it rather than pick some untested number (superstitions, you know). The starter blew out his knee the first practice and I went in. Was undefeated for the tourney with 3 shutouts. Worn 43 ever since.

After I invented the internet I couldn't think of a screen name so my wife came up with it. I was working as supervisor and ran a department with over 200 employees. That's where the "Bossman" came from. The "PC" are the initials of the company I worked for.

I've used this name since the old Prodigy days and just never changed it.

Actually I didn't like the name because I thought it sounded arrogant. But I kept it anyway. I have thought of changing it a couple of times.

No...no you don't...but it was quite a story...when does it come out in paperback?...

I know it was..The way I type, it also took me a while. I'm really hoping the panel can reconsider. You did consult the panel, right? I don't see any rivals to it on here yet. i want my damn fruit basket!

All I can say is it's in the hands of the publisher.. you know what lazy asses they are... i'll let you know when i'll be at Barnes and Noble for the signing.

Name is Kendra, last name starts with a "G". Born in 1954. Friends call me KennyG -- "kennyg54" was taken when I first signed up, so dropped an "n".

Well...um...I just sort of...you know...took my first name....last inital....man, that's a boring story.

Let's try this: Larry N (I can't divulge the full name for reasons that are about to become apparent) was the first victim of my notorious identity theft ring. I've been pretending to be him for 41 years now. I should have picked a better victim, because it isn't much fun pretending to be an average schmo with a prediliction for playing too much Oblivion and subsisting on a diet of dove bars and E-Z Cheez, all the while living in the backwoods 40 miles west of Philadelphia. But I was new to the whole crime thing, so live and learn.

If that doesn't cut it, I could always say it was the ID the witness protection prgram came up with for me....

Thank you for inventing the Internet, Dr. Cerf :)

Believe it or not, I am Automattic on here and Automattic in the real world too. It's even Tatted on my arm. Most people just call me Auto though. My wife calls me Matt and will only call me Auto when I get laid. I don't know why I just told you that...

As everybody knows, the dasher is the strip on top of the boards that connects the glass to the boards (and it hurts like hell when you hit it). Added the '12' as it is the number I wore in hockey (and as a nice homage to my favourite Winnipeg Jet of all time).

Many bannings in the swamp later, I've shortened it to dash (as it was available here at shangri-la)
