I learned how to take care of myself from calling my mom and watching YouTube videos. It's not so much sad that he didn't know how to do things in the first place as it is that he didn't use easy resources to figure it out.

I washed my own clothes and ironed my own clothes since I was like 14. If you can't do basic around the house chores as well as keep up your own personal hygiene by 16, you've failed at life already (unless you are playing in the NHL for millions of dollars, then I guess you didn't fail all that much).
