It kinda belies belief that Vegas got Stone for a second rounder and a B prospect. Guy was pretty much willing to sign an extension anywhere too.

I’ve never seen any player’s face in one game as much as I’ve seen Ryan Reaves’ tonight.

Gotta agree with bieksa. rousell created animosity. In the blackhawks series, vegas just would go to sleep because there was no emotion in the games. With the animosity, vegas stayed engaged all game tonight

However if the Canucks continue to play like this, it won't matter who's on the ice.
From what I saw Vegas was bigger, faster, stronger and more importantly wanted it more.

Only one game, but that was a heck of a statement

We got the wrong refugee from Ottawa.

Had to laugh at a silly comment on the US broadcast last night.

Talking about Marky and how he was 30 years old and a former 1st round pick of Florida. Then say he is now playing at the elite level that was expected of him way back when. Cue Pierre to talk about how excellent he was at the 09 Juniors where he won a silver LOL

Then the analyst went with "dont know what happened to him in FLA" like it was all THEIR fault that Marky had not developed before now. Said it twice. They did accurately state that he spent the last 7 years in the VAN organization.

I am WTF? Dude has been with the Nucks for 7 years and you want to shit on FLA for his lack of development?

:L

I thought someone must have misspoke, so looked up his career stats. Yes all of the above was true.

Oh and his SV% this year is basically the same as in all of his previous years. Not sure why this year he is the second coming of Georges Vezina, but :noidea: I dont see enough games to have an opinion

(which is the hardest I have ever worked to say he aint no sieve)

He's been on bad teams literally every year of his career until now. The fact this season is his first playoff should've been exhibit A on that lol (Canucks made it in 14-15 but waived him and sent him to the A in lieu of Miller and Lack).

But going back to the Florida thing, they seem to be stuck in the old idea that you know by age 22 or whatever whether a goalie is going to be good or not despite the fact that in the last decade we've seen a fuck ton of goalies emerge as legit starters in their mid to late 20s. Markstrom left Florida just after turning 24. Within two years he was, at worst, a replacement-level starter in the NHL. That is pretty much the average starting goaltender trajectory we see today and is basically applicable for half the starting goalies still in this year's playoffs.
