Just not enough horses. Trotz had a lot more to work with when he came to the Caps. Another year, and prospects like Wahlstrom and Dobson will probably give him a more potent pool of players.

I thought the Isles would win this series, but unless they play like they did against Pittsburgh, it is over for them. And these Hurricanes are not the Penguins. And I think it’s too late for that. For some reason the Islanders just look sluggish out there and this “substitute” goalie for the Canes looked absolutely great. It may be possible, but very improbable, especially the way the are now, that the Isles can win this series. After last night their odds of winning the cup dropped to 15-1 to win it.

Even worse, I have seen zero of the blues- dallas match up.
