I wish I had your confidence. I don't.

I don't think we're going to lose, but it's going to be a tough win and the offense WILL have to put some points up. We've seen them do it (Saints) but we've also seen them lay some eggs recently. Not having to play a top 5 defense will help (we've been doing that a lot).

Last year around game five i knew this team was headed to the SB to win it,this team has a soul ,that IT factor that great teams have,it is not one player it is the sum of all with these guys.

Agreed.

About the only thing radically different about Seattle in this game, compared to the rest of regular and post season is Broncos will have to game plan for Harvin being out there. That and the Broncos WRs are going feel pain in their muscles and joints when they watch the game tape of the Seattle D this year.

Who is Harvin? Is he related to that Percy Harvin guy who used to play in the NFL? Whatever happened to that guy?

Side note, it looks like 17% of ticket sales on Stubhub are from Seattle versus 10% from Denver. Most are from NY/NJ...I'm not sure who they'll be rooting for.

I hope Seattle fans are able to act like we do at the Clink (on our feet, yelling, etc). No 12th man flags though (against SB rules).

That's interesting on the ticket sales but the hawks finally have gained some numbers of people nationally that like them.

8 of the last 13 SB winners had a top-3 scoring defense

cdumler is correct. it is not just welker running the short routes. DT, decker, welker, and JT all run the short rub routes. It is the staple of their offense.

and you both are correct that because the seahawks corners play very aggressively at the l.o.s., there is a real possibility that those little 4-5 yard routes could turn into 20 yarders if the corner loses his man. i'm sure the seahawks are game planning for these routes though so it will be interesting to see where they position their LB's and safeties to contain these routes.

Here is the kind of hit's that those guys will be knowing is coming.

I don't think there's much of a chance of a Browner hit on Welker this game. The only thing Browner is hitting these days is his bong.

Don't think for a second that the others cannot do that.

There is nothing better than pure bravado from homer fans. I really miss dishing it out myself!

Chancellor laid him out in that game too.

Guilty as charged,,do you know how long Hawk fan's like myself have been waiting for this? tooo long.

This is not like 05 with this young team, but i will keep it in perspective and many of my fellow 12th man from the northwest are very cautious it is just the way we are here and i respect that,i do.

huh? cromartie is 'ok' but harris was their only other decent DB and he's not playing in this one. and their safeties blow. hard.

the broncos secondary is not good. at all. especially now that harris is out. the only question will be if wilson and his receivers can take advantage of it. they aren't exactly a prolific passing attack.

1) DRC was a top 5 corner this year.
2) We have a guy named Champ Bailey who is finally 100% healthy. Tony Carter is more than servicable. That's fail #2
3) Mike Adams (Smart, hard-nosed vet) & Ihenacho (up and coming thumper - does need work in coverage I will admit)
4) At least you got something right here.

Saint's were right behind the Bronco's in passing offense.

The Bronco's have not faced a top shelf D let alone one of the best in history.

The Bronco's running D ranked at 7th is very misleading due to many of the mediocre teams they played that had to pass to keep up,Lynch will have a field day with the Denver D.

Again Denver's D is ranked 19th in passing the Hawks have played far better plus the Cowboy's put 40 points on the Bronco's.

I feel far more confident for the Hawks going into this game than the NFC Championship tbh and there is just not that odd feeling for me compared to the 05 SB going in.

You can't have it both ways here buddy. So either that 7th ranked run defense is misleading or the 19th ranked pass defense is misleading. Because teams abandoned the run early to keep up then that means the pass defense is inflated.

Now to me it is a little of both. Our run defense has actually been very good. It is not just that we are 7th in yards it is that we are 7th in yards per carry as well. Teams have tried to run on us and there is a reason that only one running back has actually gained over a hundred yards all season. This defense works to make teams one-dimensional and makes it to where a quarterback has to beat us. We have done that the last 2 games in the playoffs with much better quarterbacks than Russell Wilson.

Now the pass defense I would say is average right now. The Broncos have 2 very good cover corners in Champ and DRC but the safeties are very hit and miss. Teams that have beat us are the ones that spread this defense out and make us play from the nickel or dime defense.

Now your Cowboys game reference makes me think you didn't actually watch the game. If you did you would realize that for that game 7 starters on defense were out and we were having to play 3-4 different rookies that had never been in a game at that point in their careers. They still game up with the game sealing interception though. Now if you want to look towards more recent history with this defense and how they are doing they haven't allowed over 17 points in a month and a half now. I would probably say that is closer to what to expect than the 48 they gave up clear back in September.

Looking at the Bronco's schedule just does not impress me,Texans those guys had given up,Raiders come on.

I mean look at those points by the Titans,Chargers, etc that is the softest schedule i have seen.
